How is matter conserved?

This question applies to the law of conservation of matter, which states that the m in a system will remain constant regardless of outside influences. Basically, matter is neither created or destroyed in any chemical reaction, if you start out with an x amount of substance(any matter), you will end up with the same x amount of whatever the product is, so the matter wasn't destroyed but rather it was conserved by transferring or transforming
