My face is red and blotchy in some areas...?

it makes me have less confident.. are there any products that will reduce the redness?? I went to a skin doctor and he told me that it is hereditary and that nothing can be done. Is laser surgery a safe method.. or how about a bleaching product that will turn my face white? please Help!!! thanks.
