How to make a synthesis of cyclopropyl ring of 2-methoxy-3-(1S,2R)-2-(2-metho… acid?

This compound is in the synthesis of cyclopropyl rings. Make this one from any starting materials having 3 carbons or less. This is the final result but I have to work backwards to find the starting materials. Like what I did to get this compound?
