Army military police is it tru that.....?

ok my mom is freaked out at me signing up for either the coast guard or army, depending on my asvab scores, i told her im doinit for the experience becuase i want to become a cop, and so if i go army im trying to score high enough for mp...i told her that my recuriter sayd that if i go over their i would b an mp, not get shot at like infantry, and thats stricktly my job, a police man over there just like over here..is this tru? im ending my freshmen year at a 4-yr institution to do this becuase i am tired of riverside, and want to get started with my life, and i can go to school at the same time and as u prolly kno school money is tight for every1 right now..but ya i was just wondering if this is tru....if u have any more info on mps then feel free to tell me thanx!!
