How did ppl get rid of bronchitis in the 1700 and 1800s?

They would put the head over a steaming bucket of water with a towel over their head and inhale the steam It was the worst thing they could do because it got more moisture in their lungs. If they had access to eucalyptus they would put that in the boiling water. That could be helpful in breaking up the clogged bronchial pages. They had no antibiotics. A wealthy person would go to a warmer dryer climate until the condition ped.
