Ritee, i have a 50 gallonish tank and what can i put in?

well i dont mind about water requirments as havent set it up yet. well i was looking for bigger fish as i always stick to neons, guppies, kribs etc. wanted something different 6 inches sorta size.i liked yellow lab cichild but i dont really want a really rocky tank, could i have cichilds in a tank with lots of plants and oer turned plant pots and shells etc? wuld it work if they still had hiding places? what cichilds work with a yellow lab? or culd i try to breed them? can i have other cichilds in there with a breeding trio of them? please help me decide what to do... or can you suggest something else tht sorta size which isnt very aggressive and is freashwater sorry forgot to add tht earlier!
